Stacey Dash is continuing to defend her call for the African-American community to scrap their own exclusive networks and awards shows if they want to promote integration, insisting her views are no different from those of revered actor Morgan Freeman.
The outspoken Clueless star sparked a backlash online last week after voicing her opinions about the lack of diversity among the top 2016 Oscars nominations during a chat on U.S. news show Fox & Friends, on which the Republican Party supporter is a contributor.
"We have to make up our minds," she said. "Either we want to have segregation or integration. If we don't want segregation, then we need to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the (NAACP) Image Awards, where you're only awarded if you're black. If it were the other way around, we'd be up in arms. It's a double standard... Just like there shouldn't be a Black History Month. We're American, that's it."
Dash has now stepped up her fight by demanding an apology from her harshest critics, who she notes have done little to condemn The Dark Knight star Freeman, even though he made similar remarks about the need for Black History Month back in 2006.
In a post titled, "Twitter Haters, When Do I Get My Apology for Agreeing with Morgan Freeman about BlackHistoryMonth?", she wrote, "When I spoke out on Fox News and on my blog about the need to get rid of BET and Black History Month, all the same usual Twitter haters came out of the woodwork to troll me and say all sorts of disgusting things about me.
