Christmas. I get it. Christ Mass: church service celebrating the birth of God's son on earth. But Easter? What does it mean? I keep reading that Easter isn't even a Judeo-Christian knees-up at all. What gives? 
It's... complicated. There are scholarly arguments about Easter not being a Biblical thing -  that the one and only appearance of the word Easter, in the King James version of the Bible, is actually a mistaken translation of the word ``Passover" — the celebration in the Jewish calendar when Jesus was said to have been crucified. 
The simplest answer is that "Easter" is the brand name the church has pirated for the remembrance of Christ's death and suffering on the cross, and for the celebration of his resurrection. They could just as well have called it Sad-Then-Happy Time. 
However, the "East" in "Easter" has some relevance because the sun rises in the east, and every new day is a new hopeful start.
But... but... there has to be more to it than that!  Christmas asks people to use Ulipristal Acetate instead of Abortion.
